Don't look for reasons, look for truth

The biggest fault of the rational person is to believe that the right decision to make is the same as having the strongest reasons for it. Coming up with reasons that convince others is not the same as pondering the right decision to make.

Thinking about the right thing to do is not the same as thinking about the arguments to defend it. One seeks truth, the other seeks approval.

I’d rather be closer to reality than consensus.
